Ed Woodward Seen At Carrington, Fueling Solskjaer Contract Speculations

Ed Woodward was photographed arriving at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground this morning, sparking rumours a permanent contract for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be imminent.

The executive vice-chairman is a key figure at Old Trafford and was the man who swung the axe when Jose Mourinho left the club in December.

Until today, Woodward had not been seen at the United training base since his face-to-face meeting with Mourinho.

The Portuguese boss was given the boot after overseeing the Red Devils’ worst-ever start to a Premier League season.

Club legend and former U23s manager Solskjaer was handed the role on an interim basis and has now overseen seven consecutive victories.

The Norwegian is keen to take on the job full-time and could not have enjoyed a better start when looking to make an impression on the United hierarchy.

With Woodward pictured being driven into the complex this morning, rumours have begun to circulate that serious contract talks could be on the horizon.

However, the 47-year-old may also be present to conduct talks with Solskjaer over a potential new appointment as director of football.

There is also the possibility that Woodward could have popped in for a discussion about transfer policy, with United keen to sign defensive reinforcements this January.

The majority of the playing squad were also spotted arriving at Carrington, struggling through thick fog as freezing temperatures grip the country.

Luke Shaw was wrapped up warm against the elements while Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku were all spotted turning into the training base.

Meanwhile, former United striker and free agent Giuseppe Rossi was also spotted arriving in a taxi as he continues to work on his fitness ahead of a move.
