There was widespread shock and despair for residents of Shauri Moyo estate in Nairobi after two girls were allegedly murdered by their father. The girls aged 10 and three years are reported to have been murdered at 6:30am on Tuesday.
Early reports claim that the inhuman act was premeditated by the father. It is however not clear why the man conducted the heinous act. Police had a difficult time trying to access the murder scene and were forced to lob teargas into the air to disperse irate residents.
The residents had gathered around the suspect’s house baying for his blood.Buruburu OCPD Geoffrey Mayiek said the suspect is in police custody and investigations into the incident have commenced.
The bodies have since been moved to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem. The incident follows another where a woman in Marakwet walked four kilometers from her house to her co wive’s residence where she slashed her several times on the neck killing her instantly!
Domestic killings in Kenya are on the rise especially in 2019 where more that 20 cases have already been reported to the police. We all know times are hard and the future may look bleak especially in January but taking another Human Being’s life has never solved anything! Beware!
