Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria will never seize to amaze us.The controversial politician has now gone ahead to publicly show support  for the Wiper candidate in the upcoming Embakasi South by-elections where he even mobilized some jubilee party members.

While taking to his facebook account he wrote, “Jubilee Party will not field a candidate in the forthcoming Embakasi South by-elections. As such in the spirit of the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative, myself and like minded leaders, in our individual capacities, have today resolved to support Hon Musili Mawathe (Wiper) to retain his seat. Hon Jaguar (Starehe), Hon George Theuri (Embakasi West) , Hon Simon Mbugua (EALA) , Hon Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama joined me in wishing Hon Mawathe a successful campaign”

He was accompanied by MPs Charles Njagua (Starehe), George Theuri (Embakasi West), Simon Mbugua (EALA), Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.

Kuria’s actions comes a day after Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju released a statement saying  that the ruling party would not field candidates in Embakasi South and Ugenya.

Tuju further said the decision was arrived at after lengthy consultations by its leadership.

Mawathe will be running against ODM’s Irshad Sumra.

The Embakasi East constituency was declared vacant by the Supreme Court that nullified Mawathe win.

The court nullified the election on December 21 last year on grounds there was no evidence to support the results the IEBC used to declare Mawathe winner.

The petition was filed by Sumra who is a former MP.
