The former Nairobi Governor has expressed his interests to work with the current Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.

Speaking to Citizen TV on a live show Dr Evans Kidero has said that he met with Governor Sonko in Mombasa and he promised to invite him for chat.

Dr. Kidero on the same note urged the people of Nairobi to exercise patience with their Governor Sonko. He simply asked the people to give him time has he has the potential to deliver.

Speaking on his own report card and life after city hall, Dr Kidero has said he is proud of a number of achievements he made while serving the people of Nairobi;

“We did the Nairobi- urban integrated plan which gave direction on how the city would be built, the transport system and how the new housing program was going to be done…time was not long but we put the foundation.”

He added;

The biggest expenditure in Nairobi and during my time is on human resources…We did well on revenue collection and that is why we were probably able to spend a little bit more money.”

On many corruption cases that are facing him, Dr Kidero has come out to wash his hands off them.

Corruption is something that is with us and I am a victim.”

“When I got into office I knew that corruption was a big issue and I invited EACC, we signed MOU and gave them access…that is why you have seen a lot more access coming out of Nairobi County than any other county.”

Dr Kidero raised a number of contraversial issues including the recent plans by the Nairobi County Government to solve traffic congsetion in the city. He agreed with the introduction of the BRT project which he said will be a solution to the current traffic menace eating away the beauty of Nairobi,

“The ultimate solution to our transport system is an Integrated Mass Transit System.”….”Transport affects people socially/ it is a multi-billion investment which takes time to get investors on board to implement that.” he said.
