Chelsea players have trust in boss Maurizio Sarri’s philosophy, defender David Luiz has said insisting that “everybody is with” the Italian.
The Blues were heavily criticized for their performance in the 2-0 loss against Arsenal on Saturday with the former Napoli manager accusing his players of being “extremely difficult to motivate”.
When asked about Sarri’s explosive post-match comments, Luiz said the manager “was not happy” after the match “but nobody was happy, so it was normal.”
Adding that: “It is our style, it is our philosophy. I think if you asked at the beginning of the season, ‘can Chelsea keep the ball?’ – you would have said no.
“And now we are able to do that, like the best teams in the world, but then we have (to) improve our last 25 meters.”
When asked about trusting Sarri’s philosophy after a loss, the Brazilian said: “What he has done has been amazing, so we try to improve the details now. Everybody is trusting his job and everybody is with him.”
The loss cut Chelsea’s gap with Arsenal to three points in the race for the top four.
