After the discovery of the identity and details of the Dusit D2 suicide bomber who happens to be 25-year-old Mahir Khalid Riziki born and brought up in Majengo area of Mombasa town, his radicalisation information has also been thrown in the public.
According to the police it was while attending prayers at Musa Mosque that Khalid met his recruiter Ramadhan Hamisi Kafugwa who is now in Somalia fighting alongside Al-Shabaab while inviting more Kenyan recruits.

Kufungwa, according to the report, was an Imam at Musa Mosque before he fled to Somalia. The police accused Kufungwa of indoctrinating and recruiting youth and later transporting them to Somalia.
He is also accused of masterminding murders of Sheikhs opposed to his teachings and those allegedly working with the Government, including Sheikh Idriss Mohamed.
