Tax payers will cry over this mess in Kisumu

It was relief for residents when Kisumu governor Anyang’ Nyong’o was discharged from Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, yesterday.

Senior county officials who visited him said was in good health. He left the hospital in the morning. They said the governor is in better health and will resume his daily duties. “Actually, he was to be discharged on Wednesday,” an official said.

In another non amazing health news awaiting the governor at home, health centre that cost tax payers Sh14 million is set for demolition over poor workmanship.

The Kisumu County government has ordered that the two-storey Kosawo Health Centre in Kondele be brought down and rebuilt a new.

County Secretary Dr Olang’o Onudi has written to the Department of Health and Public Works ordering the demolition as it emerged that the county government will use another Sh8 million to rebuild the facility, whose construction started in 2005.

The order does not however mention if any action will be taken against the contractor and government engineers that supervised the project.
