Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Gives Three-Word Reply To Man Utd Transfer Talk

Manchester United were expected to move for a defender this month after a tumultuous season at the back.

They failed to secure a centre-back over the summer, which led former manager Jose Mourinho to criticise the club’s transfer efforts.

Mourinho was sacked in December and replaced by Solskjaer, who has been put in interim charge until the end of the season.

United headed into the January transfer window with many fans hoping deals would be done to strengthen the side.

But Solskjaer delivered a three-word response when asked about deals today.

Asked on the possibility of signing new players, he said: “No, not really.”

The defiant stance may frustrate some fans who are keen to see the club strengthen at this midway point in the season.

But the swell of support for Solskjaer since his arrival at Old Trafford may mean the club can get away with not spending the big bucks this month.

Solskjaer has become the first Manchester United manager to win his opening six matches.

That includes five Premier League wins and a routine FA Cup triumph over Reading.

United beat Tottenham 1-0 at the weekend to inch closer to what would be an unlikely top-four finish.

They host Brighton on Saturday (3pm) before a trip to Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup next Friday.

Asked about his time at United so far, Solskjaer said: “I love it to be fair.

“And I have to say I look forward to getting up in the morning to start work again, I always do in football.

“Molde, Cardiff, I love working with people, trying to improve people and here you want to go to bed at night.

“I’m still in the hotel but I’ve found a place and won’t be too long. I’ve been driving around a bit and finding my bearings, I’ve met mates so it’s not like I’m on my own.”
