DPP Noordin Haji arraigns five Riverside Terror Attack Suspects in Court

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has arraigned five suspects over the bloody Riverside Terror attack in court. This comes barely four days since the day that at least 21 people were killed in Westlands after gunmen and a suicide bomber stormed into the building and started shooting haphazardly.

In his statement to the media, the DPP said that the DCI has covered considerable grounds in the investigations and he is satisfied that there is probable cause to continue investigating all the suspects.

Those taken to court are Joel Ng’ang’a Wainaina, Oliver Kanyango Muthee, Gladys Kaari Justus, Guleid Abdihakim and Osman Ibrahim.

The Prosecution has asked the court to allow police detain them for a month to enable them complete investigations.
Police had earlier said they were holding 11 suspects.

Detectives were also pursuing Violet Kemunto, the wife of one of the suspects. Investigators said they found bomb-making material at the house of one of the suspects in Mucatha, Kiambu County.

The DPP has however said that his office will require sufficient time and resources to unearth the entire criminal syndicate since the investigations are complex and multinational.
