The Dusit D2 attack on Tuesday 15th has brought a lot of debate on social media especially for the international American Media company the NewYork Times for publishing gory pictures of the attack victims.
On Thursday the Media Council of Kenya wrote to the NewYork times giving them 24 hours to pull down the pictures.Well some people however feel like the media body is too weak to command an International Media Company.
City Lawyer has been hit out of social media for apparently claiming the move to write to the NewYork Times by the media body as stupid further calling it as a mere threat that would not work.
While taking to his twitter account Donald Kipkorir tweeted saying, “In threatening The New York Times, Media Council Of Kenya is engaging in puerile stands. It’s like Kenya threatening US or Burundi threatening France. Some threats are just stupid! NYT apologized. The Owner of NYT is as rich as Kenya. We should look for our playmates.”

Kenyans on Twitter did not take his comment lightly as they went on backlashing him for the offensive comment
Here are some reactions
.@ahmednasirlaw is richer than you and handles legal briefs of higher stature than you. He did not steal from the defunct Kenya Post and Telecommunication either. But when he tweets something you disagree with you tweet back his wealth not withstanding! @WehliyeMohamed

I did not know that the weak should not speak because they are less wealthy , wakili really ? Wow. Well @nytimes will have to leave Nairobi and they can report from Congo or Luanda for all we care . @MediaCouncilK did the right thing. @FredMatiangi @mucheru

Senior, you losing the point,it’s not how rich the owner is or how well financed&established NYT https://t.co/Igq3qFMR94’s about dignity to our dead fellow citizens,it’s about respecting Kenyan journalism standards.Every country has its laws&standards either respect or get out!.

Ridiculous coming from a lawyer. Didn’t know that such a “learned” mind could also suffer from inferiority complex! You can’t let an elephant trump on you just because of ur size. African allies are abandoning the US for China. Just a reminder, usidharau wembamba wa reli.
