Morata made the switch to Chelsea in the summer of 2017 from Real Madrid for a fee of around £60m.

However, the Spaniard has very much failed to live up to that price tag.

Morata would score six in his in his first six Premier League games but since then he has been very inconsistent.

With Chelsea fighting for a top-four spot, they need a much more prolific goalscorer than Morata.

The Blues appear to have found their next goalscorer in the form of Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain was spending the 2018/19 campaign on loan at AC Milan from Juventus.

That deal has now been cut short as it is looking very likely the Argentine will be signing for Chelsea.

Gonzalo #Higuain probably will not be ready to play against Arsenal… but yes, it’s confirmed: he’s coming to Chelsea, just waiting to arrive in London and sign his contract! Here-we-go #CFC #Chelsea

Unfortunately, it is unlikely Higuain will be signed in time to feature for Chelsea this weekend in a key clash.

Maurizio Sarri’s side take on 5th place Arsenal. A win for Chelsea over the Gunners would see them move nine points clear of 5th place, should Man United also lose.
