Brave UK soldier who saved People at Riverside to receive special Award from the Queen

THE SAS trooper who stormed into the Kenya terror siege to kill the attackers and save survivors is set to be honoured by the Queen, it has been reported.

The off-duty Brit soldier has been hailed a hero since fearlessly taking out the attackers during the 19-hour-long terror attack in Nairobi.

Daily Star Online reported how he was on a mission to train Kenyan Special Forces when the bloodbath took place at a hotel.

Four terrorists had launched an attack on the DusitD2 hotel, detonating a suicide belt, setting off grenades and gunning down guests – leaving 21 dead including a British man.

But after receiving an emergency request for help from Kenyan security forces, the “long serving” SAS soldier tooled up and ran straight into the gunfire alone.

With his face covered by a balaclava, the machine-gun clad hero single-handedly assassinated militants and saved countless victims.

Dramatic pictures showed the squaddie heroically leading injured victims outside before running back inside and risking his life each time.

Now he is set to be awarded for his incredible bravery during the attack by Al-Shabaab militants and presented the top military medal by the Queen.

A military source reportedly said an officer is to recommend the elite squaddie for the George Cross – which only ranks behind the Victoria Cross.

If approved, it will be awarded to the officer without any publicity because of his top secret role in the special forces.

The senior source told the Daily Telegraph: “He has saved dozens of lives. You can fully expect him to receive one of the highest gallantry awards and most likely the George Cross.

“It won’t be announced. It will be given to him secretly.”
