So let us be clear on this, an NYS suspect was found guilty of stealing more than sh. 46 million from the Taxpayer’s coffers. Ironically, the Anti-corruption court asked him to pay only 4 million from the money he stole or serve four years in prison.
Of course Selesio Karanja, the former Supply Chain Assistant at the Devolution Ministry, will pay the paltry fine. He will remain with 42 million which he will enjoy with his family and a few slay queens.
Karanja is accused of engaging in a fraudulent act in procurement for inserting the name of Dama Services Ltd in the tender opening register for the procurement of training materials in the Automotive Engineering faculty tender No.NYS/RT/29/2014-2015 which the said Dama services had not been approved for the said tender.
More interestingly, is the fact that Karanja is a church elder.
The ODPP has welcomed the decision by the anticorruption court but Kenyans think this is not the punishment the man deserves:

I think this guy Selesio Karanja
should have paid the 46 million+ 4million fine and then sent to jail for 4 years… We will not condone corruption in this our Kenya. Tumekataa— Miss_Omariba (@OmaribaFlorence) January 17, 2019
You loot over 45M and you are handed a Fine of just 4M or a 4 Year Jail term. I believe Selesio Karanja just walked away with a Megajackpot. ?
