Coastal leaders embrace team spirit to focus on economic development

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi yesterday outlined his intention to work with coastal leaders to ensure that the betterment of his people and the future generation.

Kingi yesterday joined the Principal Secretary for the state  department of devolution and ASALs Mr Charles Sunkuli, together with the chairperson  of the  Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani Economic bloc policy review forum which was held in Mombasa.

Several coastal leaders were in attendance and they vowed to embrace  the team spirit in order to fuel development.

The Governor applauded the efforts being made by the Ministry of Devolution and ASALs in supporting the Coastal Counties towards the creation of the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani economic bloc.

According to Kingi, regional development is a core pillar of economic development and County integration provides the critical leverage necessary to realize economic growth.

He also said that he appreciates the fact that all this is put into consideration under the umbrella of the Ministry of Devolution.

Kingi mentioned that The Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani economic bloc is a vital step towards unlocking the potential that lies in their region and steer the economic growth by enhancing job creation, tap into the huge market and investment opportunities and realize sustainable development.

The Kilifi Governor said that as  coastal leadership, they have set our eyes towards the establishment of their regional economic bloc for the betterment of our generation and those to come.
