Steve Mbogo has come out to clear the air over his alleged possession of an illegal firearm. Mbogo had faced a backlash from the public for allegedly parading himself holding an illegal gun while donning a bullet proof jacket at the scene of the Riverside attack.

Mbogo has revealed that he is a licensed firearm holder and that the image being purveyed and shared on social media that he was using an assault firearm is unfounded, conjured up,misleading and defamatory in every aspect.

The flamboyant business man cum politician has said that his firearm is a normal short gun Model- DERYA-ANAKON 12 GAUGE shotgun with a PUMP action MAGAZINE-FED which is within use for a licensed firearm holder like him.

“I am a civilian licensed firearm holder and the image being purveyed and shared on social media that I was using an assault firearm is unfounded, conjured up,misleading and defamatory in every aspect, because the firearm i had in the pictures taken by unknown characters and circulated on social media is a normal short gun Model- DERYA-ANAKON 12 GAUGE shotgun with a PUMP action MAGAZINE-FED which is within use for a licensed firearm holder like I am,” said Mbogo.

The Derya Anakon 12 Gauge Shortgun was developed by Turkish fram Derya.

The Anakon is a conversion of their conventional tube-fed semi-automatic shotgun and operates in almost the exact same way, feeding from a magazine forward of the bolt and ejecting downwards. It looks pretty bad-ass, but because it is supplied with just a 4 round magazine, it does not offer many advantages over a tube fed design.

This 12 gauge 3″ magnum chambered gun features a full length top picatinny rail and short under-rail, flash hider, M16-style carry handle, forward post sight and either a M16-style fixed stock or M4-style adjustable stock. The barrel is 19.6″ in length and the gun weighs 6.3 – 6.8 lbs depending on configuration.
