“Our City is not a playground for terrorists” Sonko condemns Dusit Attack

 

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has  strongly condemned the act of violence towards innocent people.

This come after the President issued a statement that the operations by police to combat the Dusit Attack  had been concluded.

Sonko urged that firm action should be taken against terrorists saying that the Nairobi City is not a playing ground for ragtag groups with their misguided philosophies.

The Nairobi Governor also added that their thoughts and prayers go to the families of the victims and survivors.

“The City stands in solidarity with all the people of Nairobi at this difficult time.” he said

Sonko said that the criminals behind this act imagine that they will defeat us but Kenya is a strong and resilient nation.

Other leaders who had yesterday condemned this unfortunate act are Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Babu Owino and many other political leaders.

Former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale who had her daughter rescued also said that Kenyans will stand fearlessly and will not surrender to the rogues.

Mike Sonko believes that Kenyans will always rise up against adversity, strengthened by their strong Kenyan identity and desire to live in freedom and liberty.

He also urged all Nairobi residents to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious persons to the police.

“I also appeal to everyone to submit to security screening by people who are meant to protect us.” he stated

Sonko in his statement thanked the law enforcement officers who responded to the attack, including the police and the military, for their role in containing the situation.
