Jamaican Star Konshens Leads the Dancehall World in Condoling with Dusit Attack Victims

The latest terrorist attack in Kenya did not only catch the attention of Kenya’s citizens but also had the attention of their world including the international community.

The Entertainment scene was also not left behind as a number of artistes both from within and without Kenya took to social media to air their messages of condolence following the deadly attack that has left 14 people dead and scores injured.

Artsites from Jamaica led by Dancehall Star Konshens also took to social media to display their solidarity with Kenya.

In a tweet accompanied with the Kenyan Flag, Konshens urged Kenyans to be strong.

“Be Strong My People,” he said.

Another Dancehall sensation Cecile also shared her love and thoughts with those affected by the attack.

“Sending my Love and thoughts to Kenya, she said.

Reggae star Jemere Morgan also asked for protection for the Kenyan People.

The Jamaican Artistes and other artistes from around East Africa like Diamond Platinumz, Alikiba, Shetta, Rosa Ree and other were also joined by the Governments of South Africa and Germany is showing unwavering support for the Kenyan people during these trying times.

The South African and German governments condemned the attack in the strongest terms possible.

In separate statements, the two states said though none of their citizens were reported to have been injured or killed, they stand in solidarity with all Kenyans.

“On behalf of the government and the people of South Africa, we send a message of support to the government and the people of Kenya,” a statement from Khusela Diko, Spokesperson to the President said on Wednesday.

They also sent messages of condolences to the bereaved and wished speedy recovery for those injured during the attack at 14 Riverside.

The South African commission in Nairobi said they are still monitoring the situation and interacting with authorities.

On its part, the German embassy in Kenya said: “We are appalled and deeply saddened by Riverside attack. We condemn this act of violence in the strongest terms and offer our deep condolences to the families of victims and all affected. Germany stands by Kenya in its fight against radicalisation and terrorism.”
