Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has today cautioned people over pointing fingers to the Muslim community in regard to terror tragedies.
His remarks come after President Kenyatta made the announcement that all the terrorists involved in the attack on 14 Riverside had been neutralized.
Babu Owino said that they welcome this news and commend Kenyan security agencies for their swift and decisive action that rescued over 700 lives.
He also joined Kenyans in mourning the 14 innocent souls that were lost in the senseless attack and offered his condolences to their families.
Babu Owino also assured the families that they will stand with them in solidarity.
The Embakasi East MP also backed the President up in calling upon all Kenyans to unite in the face of this tragedy.
“It is our unity as a people that will defeat the intentions of those who would seek to unleash terror on us.” he said
He also called upon Kenyans to jointly condemn these cowardly acts of violence and not allow the terrorists to plant seeds of division amongst us.
Babu Owino said that It is the height of insensitivity for any one to insinuate that the Muslim community somehow profits from such acts.
“Those who would point a blanket finger at our Muslim brothers and sisters are advancing the agenda of the terrrorists and are no better than them. There are Muslims who lost loved ones in yesterday’s attack and are currently laying them to rest at the Langata Cemetry.”he said
He also urged Kenyan not to tolerate any one amongst us who will try to spread ethnic or religious based hatred and xenophobia.
“We condemn you as much as we condemn the terrorists.” he stated
