A middle- aged man believed to be intoxicated has chopped off his manhood.
Witness Anthony Kanuthi said he was in his Momoniat Estate house in Nyagacho area when he heard screams from his neighbour Samuel Muchiri’s house.
“On rushing to the scene, I found that Muchiri had cut off his penis,” he said.It is unclear why he chopped it off.The incident occurred at 3am.
Kericho Police Commander James Mugera said by the time officers reached the scene they found the severed piece oozing blood on the bed.Muchiri was taken to Kericho District Hospital.The officers took the severed piece to the hospital to allow doctors reattach it.
Japheth Cheruiyot, the Kericho District Hospital Medical Superintendent, said due to the nature of the wound they transferred Muchiri to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
A resident said Muchiri was intoxicated and may not have known what he was doing.
