Truly those who plant will reap. After achieving great strides,Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been selected as one of the speakers to address delegates at the AIDS free Global Forum set to take part in London later this month.
Governor Sonko will be representing Nairobi City as one of the six global cities who will be in attendance.
According to the invitation from the office of British High Commission to Kenya, Sonko was invited to speak about Nairobi’s continued commitment to fast-track the eradication of HIV/AIDS in cities.
In the letter, Sonko is lauded for his leadership that has seen great progress to achieve the UNAIDS targets.
“Nairobi has made great progress against the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets enabled by a commitment to the Fast Track Cities Initiative.
“Your ongoing leadership in this area is vital and I hope that you might be available to attend and speak at the forum to demonstrate Nairobi’s continued commitment,” read part of the invitation.
Governor Sonko will be accompanied by the Executive Director of the National Aids Control Council Of Kenya, Nduku Kilonzo.
The AIDS free Global forum will bring together health officials, NGOs, govt officials, and activists to exchange ideas and discuss ways to achieve AIDS-free cities.
The delegates will be pulled from Global cities including Delhi, Kiev, Maputo, and London.
The Evening Standard newspaper and the Elton John AIDS Foundation are among the organizers of the forum.
