Khalwale: Even Wetang’ula visits Ruto’s Sugoi home at night

Ford Kenya deputy party leader Boni Khalwale has dismissed calls by the party bigwigs to have him face disciplinary action for supporting their rival.

The former Kakamega senator has openly been supporting and campaigning for the deputy president William Ruto.

A report by Newsflash.co.ke claim Khalwale noted that even Moses Wetang’ula pays visits to Deputy President William Ruto’s Sugoi village at night but only pretends during the day.

During the Bungoma meeting on Sunday, several FK leaders present castigated Khalwale and other elected leaders for supporting Ruto and paying him visits ostensibly for asking development projects.

Those who were castigated included Bungoma woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga, Kabuchai Mp James Lusweti and a section of FK elected MCAs who over Christmas went visit the DP  Sugoi.

However, Khalwale stated that his decision  to reach out at the deputy president was informed by the fact that Ford Kenya alone could not produce a president and hence the need to work with other serious presidential candidates.

“Let people not be myopic, the current politics of Kenya entails that only coalitions of sorts will form the next government, what can Ford-Kenya alone do without working with others ?” he was quoted by the website.

The former legislator challenged other party leaders to come out openly and show other partners that they are willing to work with rather than rebuking him.

“They should come out and say if not Ruto who do they want to work with ,What I am doing is good for the party, the Luhya community and the country at large,” the website quoted him.

He said he was ready for the Ford-Kenya grassroots elections  and that is the time that people will know that the party members are with his decision .

During the Ford Kenya delegates meeting over the weekend party leader Moses Wetang’ula asked all party officials and members to support his presidential bid and stop supporting others.
