“I’m going for the presidency” top Kamba leader officially confirms

“People have seen that I am a man of my word. My presidential bid is not a way to get a government position in future,” Governor Mutua stated.

Mutua said he is guided by his desire to propel the country to new heights through development and uplifting the live of Kenyans.

And because it is possible to transform this country to the 1st world, I have after being convinced by elders and Wananchi from all over the country decided to run for the seat of the presidency in 2022,” said Mutua.

In 2017 , elders from the Kamba region anointed Mutua to run for President in 2022.

The leaders gave Dr Mutua a quiver, bow and arrows and crowned him as the Kamba community spokesman.

“I accept with humility your proposal that I run for the Presidency in 2022,” said Dr Mutua while addressing leaders from Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Kwale and Taita -Taveta at the People’s Park in Machakos.Image result for alfred mutua to run for presidency

He said Kamba elders had asked him to convene the meeting to chart the direction of the community.

“We have done a lot of work in agriculture and other departments even the people park where you are seated was a bush,” said Dr Mutua.

He said he did not quit Wiper Party but was forced out since his agenda was to deliver services to the people.

“I said I should plan my destiny by forming Maendeleo Chap Chap Party instead of waiting to be disappointed like senators David Musila and Johnstone Muthama and others, “said Dr Mutua.

He said the party was fielding candidates across the country.

Among the key areas Mutua’s manifesto is prioritising include Education, interest free table banking for women, construction and improvement of county roads, street lighting and creation of 250,000 jobs by 2020.

In 2017 ,Mutua pledged to introduce a higher education scholarship fund to pay fees for all form four leavers admitted for a certificate, diploma, higher diploma, or a degree course. The programme took off in August 15 2017. The local bursary fund in the county was expanded from Sh80 million to Sh200 million, according to the manifesto.
