Arsenal FC head coach Unai Emery has described midfielder Mesut Ozil as any other player and one that only helps in moments this after omitting the German from his matchday squad that traveled to London to face Westham over the weekend.
Speaking with the media after the game, the Spaniard said that it was just any other decision in omitting Ozil this despite the playmaker returning to training following an injury.
“For me, he is like another player. It’s one decision when is coming one player or not coming. Sometimes he is helping us, at other moments not helping us because of his injury or because maybe the match is not for him. But he is a good player,” Emery said.
The sentiments come at a time where a section of the club fans feel there is a misunderstanding between the pair with Unai said not to be a fan of the German.
The team will need Ozil and co to fire from all cylinders to regain their form exhibited by Unai in his first days as the team head coach; the Spaniard having only picked four points from his last four games.
The team has a series of tricky fixtures coming with the London based side coming against Chelsea in their next league fixture before hosting Manchester United in the FA Cup.
