Pep Guardiola has key decisions to make throughout his starting XI when Manchester City take on Wolves at the Etihad next week.

The defending Premier League champions are in fine form heading into the fixture, having scored 18 goals in their past three fixtures in all competitions.

The vital 2-1 win over Liverpool last week was backed up with a 7-0 hammering of Rotherham in the FA Cup before City put Burton Albion to the sword, smashing Nigel Clough’s side 9-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.Guardiola now has some tough decisions to make with the majority of his players fit and firing in the goals.

A top priority will be to decide whether Gabriel Jesus keeps his place up front or Sergio Aguero comes back into the team.

The Argentinian was ill on Wednesday night and was forced to watch from the sidelines as Jesus smashed four goals past the Brewers, staking his claim for a spot against Wolves.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Phil Foden were also on the scoresheet but are both more likely to drop to the bench with Fabian Delph and Bernardo Silva returning.

Fernandinho will replace Ilkay Gundogan at the base of midfield while Kevin De Bruyne is fully fit and will hope to start against Wolves, giving Guardiola a welcome dilemma.

David Silva played 90 minutes on Wednesday night so looks most likely to miss out if De Bruyne is handed another start, although Guardiola is famed for his unpredictable team selection.

Raheem Sterling should return on the left wing while one of Riyad Mahrez or Leroy Sane will line up on the opposite flank, having both started in midweek.

Ederson will return in goal while John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are the expected partnership in central defence.

Benjamin Mendy remains sidelined following knee surgery while Claudio Bravo is a long-term absentee but would not have featured anyway.
