Manchester United head to Tottenham on Sunday with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having led the side to five successive wins.

The Norwegian caretaker will look to make it six-in-a-row against Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

And United’s record signing, the rejuvenated Paul Pogba, insists winning matches is the minimum that Red Devils fans should expect.

The Frenchman also insists Solskjaer’s arrival has led to renewed confidence among the players, leading to their recent upturn in fortunes on the field.

“We’re Manchester United so that [winning] should be a basic thing for us,” he told United’s official website.

“Obviously we know that the Premier League is hard and we have a lot of games but those five games give us more confidence.

“Mentally we’re strong and ready. For the rest of the season, we just want to do the same and carry on like that.”

Pogba has returned to the United lineup following Solskjaer’s arrival, starting in all four Premier League matches under the caretaker boss.

The Frenchman had fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho, and was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes during the Portuguese chief’s last match – the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Now Pogba is back and thriving, the £89million man winning United’s player of the month award for December after registering four goals and four assists during the final weeks of 2018.

“Obviously it’s good,” said Paul. “The month before that I wasn’t playing a lot so just being back on the pitch, playing and enjoying with the guys is good. “It’s always good for me and I enjoy playing football and being with the guys.”
