Chelsea striker returning home

Following an unsuccessful loan spell in LaLiga, Michy Batshuayi is set to return to Chelsea as confirmed by Valencia’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany.

Batshuayi was shipped out on loan at the start of the season after his loan stint at Borussia Dortmund came to an end. After scoring for fun in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, Batshuayi struggled to nail down a regular starting position at Valencia, mostly being used as a sub and netted only three goals.

Alemany confirmed that the Belgian will return to his parent club Chelsea this month, “For the good of the player and the club, we are looking for a solution. We are expecting an exit in the next few hours or days. I think we have to get in some strikers, I’ve clearly run out of patience with certain individuals.

“We could have gone in front in the first minute. It was the best opportunity I have seen us create for six months. If you can’t even get a shot in on target you are not fit to play in the Primera Liga for Valencia. I don’t make substitutions to send signals to anyone — I make them based on the performances I see.

“On the effort and the commitment, on everything that I see. I set out to be fair, and I make changes starting from that point.”
