Kenyan artist Akothee has urged musicians to take their business personal and work towards building their brands.
Akothee says that not everyone would wish to see them succeed and that is one of the reasons why some might not offer them any support.
She also advices them that they should focus on keeping those who support them close and maintain those relations with them.
Akothee shares what works for her saying that she has always organized herself even before her manager jumps in.
She insists that artists should treasure their music as their business and with that they will see a change in how they handle some issues.
Although Kenyan artists had been blamed for not having content, Akothee says that should not bother them. It is the commitment that counts.
Her remarks come at a time where the music industry is taking up a conversation to find ways to promote their content.
