Why it will be difficult for the Pharaoh’s to let go AFCON in their homeground

Egypt National Team have a good record when they host the African Cup of Nations. The hosting just itself gives them the claws to fight harder to retain the trophy.

Going by the records Egypt have a good track record at their homeground, they have won the African Cup of Nations two times they have hosted it.

The team is in good shape now calling big names like Mohammed Salah who is currently blazing and scoring goals. The team has also stayed for quite sometime without putting a smile on their fans faces.

The mighty Pharaohs will want to capitalize on the  fact that they are at home to retain the cup. Last time the team disappointed in the World Cup in Russia after being knocked out off the group stages.

They have won the AFCON Hosting rights ahead of South Africa which was also contesting to host the AFCON this year.

Cameroon was denied the rights after claims of delayed preparation to host this African competition.

The tournament will run from 15th June to 13th July.

Harambee stars will go to this year’s AFCON as under dogs hoping to impress the Kenya and put it on the continental map.
