Callum Hudson-Odoi has again told Chelsea he wants to leave the club according to Sky Sports in Germany.

The highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder appears determined to join European heavyweights Bayern Munich in this transfer window despite the fact Chelsea want to keep him.

But without a guarantee of first-team football, Hudson-Odoi wants out and is keen to play in Germany, inspired by the recent batch of young English players including Jadon Sancho who have thrived in the Bundesliga.

Sky Sports in Germany says the player has met with Chelsea’s sports director Marina Granovskaia stating he has no intention of staying at Stamford Bridge beyond next summer when his contract expires. Bayern have reportedly tabled a bid of €30million for the player having seen earlier offers dismissed.

Hudson-Odoi got a rare start on Saturday in the FA Cup on Saturday, helping the Blues to a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea’s assistant coach Gianfranco Zola has countered the claims saying he believes the player wants to stay in London. Departing Cesc Fabregas – who is being linked with a move to AS Monaco – was quoted after Saturday’s game: “He has everything he needs to make it to world football, and if he stays on the ground and works hard he can become world-class. ”

Bayern are understood to be willing to pay up to £40million for the player as they look to revamp up a midfield which could lose established star Arjen Robben and possibly Franck Ribery in the summer.

Hudson-Odoi played in England’s 2017 U17 World Cup victory, making nine appearances in the tournament and helped to created three goals in the 5-2 final win over Spain.
