Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a sensational 7-0 FA Cup third round win over Tranmere Rovers on Friday night, but as the Premier League giants serenely made it through to the fourth round draw on Monday many Spurs fans questioned Mauricio Pochettino’s need to bring on star striker Harry Kane when the north London club were already 6-0 in front.
A hat-trick from Fernando Llorente, two from Serge Aurier and an additional goal from Son Heung-Min saw Spurs catapult into an emphatic 6-0 lead, as the headed in the final 15 minutes of the match, but Pochettino elected to take off Llorente and opted to put on his star man Kane.
Unsurprisingly, it took Kane less than ten minutes to get himself on the scoresheet, as a delicious finish saw the England captain make it 7-0, but some Spurs fans were not happy with Pochettino’s decision to bring on Kane, who has started in all bar one of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures this season, and played all-but 13 minutes of Spurs’ hectic Christmas schedule.
Reacting on social media, Spurs fans took a swipe at their golden manager Pochettino, and the north London club’s fan base is entitled to question the manager, who is linked with a move to Manchester United on a daily basis.
