Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Reveals His Role In Exciting Update

United have not looked back since axing Jose Mourinho last year, with Solskjaer’s proving to be an inspired replacement so far.

The Special One was sacked a week before Christmas and the Norwegian was placed in temporary charge, with United looking a different outfit already.

Under the United legend, the Old Trafford outfit has played four games and won all of them – beating the likes of Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Perhaps more impressive has been the manner of those victories, with attacking play returning to the Theatre of Dreams – with 14 goals scored already.

But there is a need for reinforcements in January, with the likes of Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian expected to leave.

As well as replacing departures, there are some key positions being looked at to improve.

Several report have indicated that the Old Trafford outfit are hoping to sign a new centre-back and a new winger.

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld and Juventus star Douglas Costa have emerged as top targets, but Solskjaer has revealed he has one role in the process.

He said: “The club’s probably had a plan, you don’t just plan the next day and next month but this transfer window has probably been planned since the summer and year before, the next transfer window, the structure is phenomenal.

“I’m sure they’ve got their targets, I’m here to voice my opinion on that and I’m sure we’ll sit down, me and Ed if we’ve got anything in the pipeline.

“I’m here to work with the ones I’ve got, they’ve all performed and as long as they perform they should get a chance but that’s my job to improve the team and individuals.”

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old has revealed he has yet to talk to the club about a permanent role having been given the reins until the end of the season.

When asked on whether or not he had spoken to the club about his future, he said: “No it is early doors. When I came in, they were open and honest about the process of looking for the next manager.

“The more you are here, the more you enjoy it.

“When they announce the next manager, whether it is me or someone else, good luck to them.”
