Is Alexis Sanchez ‘Determined To Leave Manchester United Immediately’?

Sanchez has struggled at Manchester United ever since joining this time last year.

He’s scored just four goals in 12 months and looks a shadow of the player from his time at Arsenal.

And, according to Spanish website El Gol Digital, Sanchez wants to quit the club.

That is despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changing the mood at the club over the last three weeks.

Solskjaer came in to replace Jose Mourinho, who had killed the mood at Old Trafford.

And while results have been good – four wins in four – they have come without Sanchez involved.

He was recovering from injury in Chile when Solskjaer was appointed and has played just 27 minutes under the Norwegian.

Sanchez slid the ball through to Marcus Rashford to seal the three points against Newcastle earlier this week. But he is seemingly still keen to quit the club.

Atletico Madrid and Valencia are the two clubs named as potential destinations while PSG have previously been linked.

However the main sticking point over Sanchez will be his salary.

Sanchez earns around £500,000 a week with certain add ons and United would have subsidies that unless he agreed to a pay cut.

Sanchez is under contract until 2022 so any deal would be complicated.

In November his former boss Arsene Wenger claimed he had lost confidence and energy since joining United.

“I believe he has lost confidence,” Wenger told BeIN Sports. “The strength of Alexis Sanchez is to take the initiative, to dribble.

“Those are the players who are most vulnerable when they lose confidence their game is based on that and having that feeling to take initiative, he has lost that slowly.

“Since the start of the season he had a high level of physical energy but he has lost that as well.”
