Huge Blow to Man United: Pochettino Reveals Tottenham Ambitions

Jose Mourinho was sacked as Manchester United boss late last year.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since taken charge of Man United and is doing a superb job.

Solskjaer has won his first four league games in charge vs Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Despite this, Solskjaer is unlikely to be United boss at the end of the season with the club looking at a big name to take over in the summer of 2019.

One of the names linked the most with the Manchester United job is Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino.

Since taking over at Tottenham Pochettino has made them into a consistent top four club and has done so with a fraction of the money spent compared to the likes of Liverpool and Man City.

However, in a recent pre-match press conference, Pochettino has dealt United a blow in their pursuit of him.

Pochettino spoke at length about winning trophies with Tottenham and one day winning the Champions League with them:

“Putting you in a different level is when you win the Premier League and you are capable to challenge every season for the title and if you play Champions League and you really believe and you are a real contender one day to win the Champions League.

“That is my objective in Tottenham.”

This, therefore,e suggests that Pochettino is committed to the Spurs protect for at least a few more seasons.

Spurs next game is on Friday evening in the FA Cup vs Tranmere Rovers.
