Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t want to leave Manchester United.

The Norwegian fan favourite was appointed caretaker manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

And he’s got off to the perfect start. Four wins from four Premier League games, becoming the first United manager to win his first four league games since Sir Matt Busby in 1946.

An impressive statistic albeit against modest opposition, but it’s the style of football which has rejuvenated the United camp.

Free-flowing, attacking football with Solskjaer’s side bagging 14 goals.

His latest victory came at St James’ Park and after securing three-points, the 45-year-old outlined his desire to stay on beyond his temporary deal.

“Of course, I won’t [want to leave,] I don’t want to,” he said.

“It’s such a great bunch of players, atmosphere, but it’s the next game, it’s the next game, it’s the next game, and I’m doing my job as long as I’m here.”

He added: “Of course, tougher challenges await. We’ve played teams in the lower half of the table, but these games need to be won, you can’t beat anyone else other than the team you’re playing.

“The performance today was really professional, very solid. To come here against a club like this, with the fans they’ve got, it was excellent how the boys dealt with it in the second-half.”

Reports suggest Solskjaer could be a candidate to fill the Old Trafford hot-seat on a full-time basis.

However, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino remains the favourite with ex-Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane also mentioned.
