Msupa S has called upon Kenyans to support Kenyan artists even as they have the responsibility to grow the industry.
Msupa S said this after a thought was triggered by the Wasafi Festival which many Kenyans attended.
What even bothers the Kalenjin Rapper is how the Wasafi artists freely get to say that Kenya is their home yet according to her, they know nothing other than getting Kenyans to support them.
The Singer says that yesterday’s concert clearly showed how Kenyans do not fully support their own yet they worship other artists from beyond the borders.
“Am humbly posting this message to ask Kenyans to support Kenyan music. Its proved chat some ‘visitors’ who tour Kenya always mark it that “Kenya ni nyumbani” n yet they know nothing about Kenya, but just sweet talk us so that we can keep on supporting them.” reads her tweet
She also , requested the Kenyan media to play Kenyan very own music into maximum.
“Support na roho moja. So that, when a Kenyan is performing doesn’t look like a visitor in our own country. Mafans hawajui ngoma zake. Please Kenyan Media lets do something. We as artist shall work hard too.” she said.
To give kenyan artists a boost Msupa S also pleade with Kenyans to call artists Kenyan Artist not local artists as per the previous years.
As we ushered in the New Year, Msupa S also said that the mentality and habit of underrating the Kenyan artists should come to an end.
