Hundred drunk drivers have been arrested since the return of alcoblow rules,On Saturday morning, Kangundo Member of Parliament, Fabian Kyule was arrested for allegedly driving while drunk.
This comes after a multi-agency team, drawn from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and National Police Service, was deployed on the roads to ensure compliance of safety rules aimed at reducing road carnage.
According to the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, the MP was highly intoxicated and was arrested after crashing into a wall of a nightclub in Nairobi as he attempted to drive off.
“He should thank the police for arresting him as he was totally sloshed. We cannot to imagine what could have happened on his way home,” Boinnet divulged.
Furthermore, the IG noted that the MP had turned hostile against the security guards who had rushed to rescue him after ramming into the wall.
The lawmaker was detained at Parklands Police Station together with 46 other motorists arrested for flaunting road safety rules.
