A Mombasa businessman claiming to be a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) agent was arraigned in court for drawing out a gun on his wife on several occasions.
The suspect, Samir Gulamabbas Baloo was charged with threatening to kill his wife Noreen Kosar Gulam by pointing a gun to her head between dates June 6 and 26, 2018 at their home in Nyali Links without a lawful excuse.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Martin Rabera, the suspect, who chose to represent himself in the case, denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh.100,000.
The State prosecution was however opposed to Baloo’s release citing him as a threat to his wife and in-laws.
“Your honor, the accused on several occasions has threatened to kill and dispose the bodies of his wife and that of his father and mother-in-law in the ocean and if released he will be a threat to the wife and other witnesses,” said the prosecution.
According to Noreen’s father Mohaed Shahid Moughai, his son-in-law had been threatening that he will kill them.
Moughai said that his son-in-law told him that he was untouchable because he works with the FBI and Drugs Enforcement Agency DEA.
“He bragged to me how no one can touch him as he works with the FBI and DEA and said he kill people at free will and nobody can do anything to it,” said Moughai.
“He has a history of bad temper and abuse of drugs. I fear for my life because i have exposed him,” added Moughai.
In seeking justice, Moughai wrote a letter to several security agencies including Independent Police Oversight Authority IPOA, Director of Criminal Investigation DCI, OCS Central, Makupa and Nyali, County Commander of Kenya Police Service Chairman, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Ministry of Internal Security and Coordination of National Government to protest the delay of justice.
The case will be heard on January 15, 2019
