Besiktas president Fikret Orman has revealed the door is always open for Cenk Tosun to return to the club.

The striker has struggled at Goodson Park this season, scoring just two goals and losing his place in attack to Richarlison, and has been heavily linked with a return to his former club just a year after trading Turkey for the Toffees.

And after Tosun was left out of the Blues squad at Burnley on Boxing Day, Orman spoke to to NTV’s football show ‘Futbol Aktue about his former forward’s future, revealing the Turk has one eye on a return to Besiktas.

“When Cenk was leaving, he asked me ‘Is the door open for me?’ I said of course,” Orman said. “This door will always remain open for him, but I think he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League.

“He was upset in Turkey when he was subbed off but in England you can see the passion and desire in his eyes when he was subbed in the 70th minute. Everton is a good club but our fans in Europe will multiply their total. Besiktas is a huge club.”

However, Everton boss Marco Silva insists he has no plans o offload the forward, after describing the Turk’s omission as a “technical decision.”

Asked if Cenk Tosun still had a future at Goodison at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Blues’ trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, he said: “Yes, why not?

“It was not just Cenk who was left out of the squad. James McCarthy was also left out. It was not just him.

“I decided to go with Niasse on Wednesday and we will see what I do tomorrow.

“Morgan Schneiderlin” has also been left out of squads as well.
