How Son Heung-Min Injured Simon Francis Without Touching Him

Since rumours started swirling that Manchester United could be trying to sign Mauricio Pochettino this summer, Tottenham’s results have gone up a level.

The Lillywhites beat Everton 6-2 at Goodison Park last weekend in the Premier League.

On Boxing Day, Spurs added another five goals to their tally in a demolition job against Bournemouth.

Tottenham are now second in the division. They are a point above Man City and six points behind Liverpool.

It was a bad day at Wembley for Bournemouth.

The Cherries have slipped to 11th in the league after a bad run of form.

Bournemouth have lost four of their last five matches in all competitions.

Looking even wider, Bournemouth have lost eight of their last ten outings.

Eddie Howe is now looking at the prospect of being with defender Simon Francis for some time too.

That’s after Francis needed to be stretchered off against Tottenham.

Francis was injured by Son Heung-Min, even though the Tottenham forward never touched him.

The South Korean left Francis in a crumpled heap after he bamboozled him with a lovely piece of skill.

After the match Eddie Howe gave the following update on Simon Francis:

He has gone for a scan on his knee – it doesn’t look good. We are very concerned it’s a serious injury.

It’s hugely disappointing for a player who has been magnificent for the football club.

It’s a time where we are going to be stretched and tested. It’s very unusual you get the amount of serious injuries which we have suffered.

We are stretched to the limit. We were stretched already before this injury so this is going to add a different dimension.
