Cristiano Ronaldo And Lionel Messi Claim Made About Eden Hazard After Chelsea Beat Watford

Chelsea cemented fourth spot in the Premier League with a 2-1 win away to Watford last night at Vicarage Road. Hazard grabbed a double to take him past the 100-goal mark during his time in west London.

In the process, he became only the 10th Blues player to reach that landmark.

The Belgian playmaker has been challenged over the past few years to reach the levels of Ronaldo and Messi and he has looked rejuvenated under Sarri following the turbulence of Antonio Conte last term.

Sarri was quick to hail Hazard for his display against the Hornets and thinks he is just as influential for Chelsea as Messi and Ronaldo are for Barcelona and Juventus respectively.

“Of course he is very important for us, but Messi is very important for Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo is very important for Juventus,” Sarri said.

“He is a very great player. “He is able to play in every position. He is playing like a false number nine.

“He is very able to play in that position, today he scored two goals and I think he made two or three very good assists.

“He is very able to come to play with the team-mates, he is able to make space for team-mates, he is very able in that position, but I think that he can play very well in every position.”

While there has been speculation that Hazard could head to Real Madrid, he has set the record straight and intimated he intends to stay at Stamford Bridge to emulate some club legends.

“To score 101 goals with this amazing club is something I will never forget, but now the fans, staff and players want more,” Hazard said.

“I want to score more for this club and then try to be a legend like Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and John Terry.”

Chelsea take on Crystal Palace next on Sunday (midday).
