Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Makes Mohamed Salah Injury Revelation Ahead Of Newcastle Clash

Salah enjoyed a stunning campaign on Merseyside last term as he netted an incredible 32 league goals on his way to being crowned PFA Player of the Year.

The Egyptian also helped guide his team to the Champions League final where Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.

Things may have been different though had Salah not been forced off the pitch in Kiev in tears.

The forward was involved in a collision with Sergio Ramos that resulted in him having to limp off with a shoulder injury.

“At the start of the season, part of Mo’s body was not perfect.” Jurgen Klopp

That awkward fall resulted in Salah being a major doubt for the World Cup although the 26-year-old did eventually appear for his country in the group stages.Salah’s early form this season was not of the same level he showed last year but it seems he hadn’t fully recovered from his Champions League knock, according to Klopp.

“At the start of the season, part of Mo’s body was not perfect,” Klopp revealed prior to Liverpool’s clash against Newcastle.

“If you work in an office, if your shoulder is not 100 per cent and it is not your writing hand, then you’re okay.

“But if you’re a footballer, you have to wait until it’s 100 per cent.

“But we knew he was still a world-class player but we had to wait a little bit.

“It’s all good.”

Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League, four points above rivals Manchester City, ahead of their clash with Newcastle this evening.

Both teams are set to battle it out right up until May but journalist Tom Collomosse fears the Reds could be up against it if Salah gets injured again.
