Man Utd Told To Abandon Mauricio Pochettino Swoop And Go For Jurgen Klopp

The Red Devils disposed of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday after a string of poor performances.

With United sixth in the Premier League, they face a battle to force themselves into the top four.

It means it is unlikely that Champions League football will be played at Old Trafford next year – forcing the board’s hand.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been placed in interim charge and the difference has been startling already.

They smashed Cardiff 5-1 on the Norwegian’s managerial debut for United and fans were jubilant with the club legend.

But Solskjaer is only in charge until the end of the season, with the No.1 target for United being Tottenham coach Pochettino.

However, former Spurs star Graham Roberts reckons the Red Devils should go for Klopp instead.

After Jamie Carragher detailed why United should go for the Spurs manager, fellow defender Roberts rebuked him on Twitter.

Roberts tweeted: “Why not go for klopp @Carra23 ? Perfect for united.”

It was a tweet in response to Carra’s Telegraph column where he detailed why Poch is the right man for United.

He said: “If Mauricio Pochettino is offered the Manchester United job, he has to take it.

“That is a hard one for Tottenham Hotspur supporters to accept.

“Sadly for them, it is inevitable that they are prey to a more powerful Premier League rival.

“Hearing some arguments against Pochettino moving to Manchester United, I cannot help but think a reality check is needed.

“I do not write this to be disrespectful to Spurs. It goes without saying I am no United fan.

“I am obliged to assess as a neutral, trying to explain why – as the No 1 target – it will be tough for Pochettino to reject Old Trafford.”
