Barcelona to Break the Bank for Rashford

Man Utd transfer news Barcelona Marcus Rashford

Barcelona are reportedly ready to rival Real Madrid for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The England international struggled to hold down a place in the Old Trafford side under Jose Mourinho. He scored on Saturday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer began his caretaker reign with a 5-1 win over Cardiff.

But Rashford is on the radar of both La Liga giants – as well as Serie A side AC Milan.

According to the Daily Express , the Nou Camp side have compiled a comprehensive dossier on Rashford. But any bid would not likely come until the summer window.

Rashford has scored five goals for United this season but has spent much of the campaign on the bench. He could yet be rejuvenated by a change of manager after scoring inside three minutes in Wales.

Rashford told BT Sport: “He wants us to be positive on the ball and always look for the gaps and play positive football, and that was just the start today. We’re going to improve and get better at it. But today was a good start.”

Lingard added: “It’s been good. The lads played with a lot of energy today, a lot of enjoyment and excitement, and we topped it off with five goals, which was good.”

Jesse Lingard’s second-half brace complemented earlier efforts from Rashford, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial, with Victor Camarasa’s penalty a mere consolation for Cardiff. Asked if there were any positives, Solskjaer laughed and said: “There’s quite a few!

“The attitude and application of the boys when you go out there and see them, the attitude has been fantastic, the dressing room, the way they approached this game. “It’s been a difficult week for everyone and to get the focus and perform as well as they did impress.”
