A simple Christmas festive season message from Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s wife, Hellen, has gone south after slain Sharon Otieno’s name come up in the comment section.

In her message posted on Thursday, December 21, Helen wished residents of the cosmopolitan county and their loved ones God’s protection during the festivities but it was not well received.

Apparently irked by mention of “loved ones”, her followers raided her page reminding her of the gruesome murder of the Rongo University student. Before her death, the slain 26-year-old was romantically involved with Obado and the former lovers were expected a baby.

Majority claimed by sending out Christmas wishes to people she may not know individually, her action opened healing wounds and may hurt Sharon’s family. “You may be happy but the spirit of Sharon will haunt the killer forever,” said Rono Wences.

Others, however, suggested she should take care of Sharon’s orphans. “Do one thing and I will respect you, go to Sharon’s place give them KSh 10 million for upkeep of the children who were left behind by our sister Sharon, whom you know or heard about her killing. I’m waiting,” one said.

The county chief and four other suspects are facing murder charges in connection to Sharon’s mysterious killing. Lady Justice Jessie Lessit released Obado on a KSh 5 million cash bail after spending a month in Industrial Area Remand Prison. His co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero were, however, driven back to the cell awaiting a pre-trial conference slated for February 14, 2019.
