Scary increase in the number of road accidents on Kenyan highways

As we draw closer to the festive season, the number of accidents keep increasing by the day even after the government reintroduced the Michuki rules meant to restore sanity on the Kenyan roads. Despite the move by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to try and curb road carnage, more people continue to lose their lives on the roads.

One person was today killed and 7 others injured after an accident involving a bus and a tanker on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. According Nakuru OCPD Samuel Obara, the bus was coming from Eldoret to Nairobi while the tanker was headed in the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided head on at Ngata area causing a huge traffic snarl up.
