When she made the announcement on her social media, heartless Kenyans on Twitter, instead of empathizing with the Narc Kenya leader on her sour lose, instead blasted her and reminded her of what happened during the country’s most disputed 2007 General elections.

For many of us, the 2007 election is one Kenyans won’t forget as we all remember how the former President Mwai Kibaki was sworn in late at night, shortly after the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) made an official statement announcing his victory.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga rejected Mr Kibaki’s victory, accusing him of electoral fraud and demanding a recount of the results. A team of observers from the European Union said the ECK had failed to ensure the credibility of the poll.

More than any other PNU leader at the time, Martha Karua was at the forefront fighting for Kibaki in the aftermath of the much disputed 2007 election right from the tallying center in KICC right through the mediated talks with the late Kofi Anaan. She spent sleepless nights defending allegations of election fraud made by ODM.

So is Waiguru’s win karma for Karua?

The judges today ruled that the appellant, Martha Karua had failed to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt on claims that there was bribery in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial election last year.

“There was no prejudice suffered by the appellant in failure by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to produce the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIMS) kit,” the ruling read by Justice Gatembu Kairu said.

It now looks like what goes around comes around. Do you think Karua is paying for her action during the disputed 2007 elections?
