By now we all know it will happen, it is surely a matter of time before Kenya’s most talented forward makes a comeback on the football pitch. Yes, Dennis Oliech is back lads! He obviously is not the speedy forward who could terrify defenders with his pace but the physical strength and a knack for finding the back of the net are still present.

It should come no surprise that the rumor mill points to Gor Mahia as his most likely destination which in most people’s opinion is the best option for all involved. If the deal does go through, Gor Mahia will have themselves a player of special quality and capable of deciding football matches on his own, a trait they have lacked since the departure of Meddie Kagere.

On the player’s part, he will be working with some of the finest talents in the country as well as staff which should make the transition a bit easier for him.To sum it all up, the best work best with the best( excuse the repetition.)I suspect Oliech is making this move with one eye tightly focusing on next year’s AFCON in whatever venue that CAF decide is best poised to host the Tournament(In case you didn’t know, Cameroon was to host but not anymore.)

The 33 year old will however first need to prove his fitness and value to K’Ogallo before Sebastian Migne can assure him of a plane ticket to…again, wherever CAF decide next June.

Dennis Oliech is a supremely gifted footballer and if Gor Mahia can get him going again, the nation will have the one hero who they’ve always relied on for goals going into the most important competition we have participated in for 15 years!

In football, all you need is a fighting chance and with a fit and firing Dennis Oliech, Kenya can cause a few upsets in….Wherever CAF decides!
