Dele Alli takes a jibe at Arsenal after bottle incident

After he was struck by a bottle in a 2-0 win over Arsenal in the North London Derby, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli noted that the incident made the victory ‘All the sweeter’.

Tottenham Hotspur made amends after their 4-2 loss to Arsenal in the league to knock out The Gunners in the Carabao Cup, courtesy of goals from Heung-min Son and Dele Alli.

The England international chased a ball into touch down the left when he was struck by a bottle thrown from the crowd.

Speaking after the win in which he was named the man of the match, Alli noted that the bottle thrown at him made the victory sweeter, “I was hit, yeah, it is what it is, it made the goal a little bit sweeter and the win.”

Alli was also asked if the Spurs players would be taking selfies in the changing room, after manager Mauricio Pochettino criticized Arsenal for being “disrespectful in their celebrations after the 4-2 win earlier this month, “No, maybe, we’re not sure, we’ve got to focus on the next game now,” he said. “It wasn’t the perfect game, we’re not going to get carried away, we play games to win and when we do take the positives into the next one.”
