VIDEO: Uhuru pressed to the wall by an MP to clarify Raila’s position in government

As much as the March 9, 2018 handshake put opposition leader Raila Odinga in a close tie with President Uhuru Kenyatta, the position he holds in government remains questionable. Raila recently hosted President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in Nyanza region where the President launched the Universal Healthcare cover among other projects.

This is not the first time Raila was being seen with Uhuru. They have been together on several occasions, including public holiday celebrations and National forums. Which position do you think Raila holds in the government? This is what Kimilili Constituency Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa is demanding to know.

The lawmaker has challenged the president to come clear and clarify the position held by opposition chief in the government.

According to MP Barasa, the president is aware that he is holding a public office and not a private property, arguing that on behalf of Kimilili people, he has the right of knowing the position the opposition chief holds in government.

He argues that as a country, Kenya will be setting a bad presidency that in future, those that will participate in the presidential race and lose, will still get an accommodation in the government.

He quoted the statement made by the president while on his two day tour in Kisumu that the country needed to do away with the winner-take-all culture, which Didmus said that it meant that losers still had a position to hold in the government.

Barasa demands that the president provides answers to very many occasions that Kenyans are now questioning.
