MP Aisha Jumwa accuses Raila of hypocrisy, says she’s ready for any disciplinary action
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has launched a scathing attack on former Premiere Raila Odinga, over the genuineness of his March 9 handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The ODM rebel MP has accused Raila and the ODM party as a whole of hypocrisy, insisting that Opposition leader should allow MPs to make free and independent political choices, including siding with DP William Ruto.
“My leader Raila met Uhuru, shook hands and said one Kenya. But what baffles me, Raila is ok with Uhuru but has a problem with his party members having a dalliance with Uhuru’s deputy Ruto? I don’t understand the rationale?”
“When I shake hands with Ruto, then I am branded a traitor and face expulsion from the party, I thought the handshake was genuine. I will stand to be counted and will equally carry my own cross!”
She claims that Raila had stifled dissent and refused to allow Opposition leaders to associate with Ruto and other national leaders yet he (Raila) was working with President Kenyatta.
Jumwa says that she is ready to face any disciplinary action ODM Party will take against her, but she will not relent in her support for DP Ruto.
